Voice minutes and what happens at the limit

Pro includes 1,000 voice minutes a month, Growth includes 2,000. Here's how minutes are counted, what happens at the limit, and how to upgrade mid-cycle.

How minutes are counted

A "minute" is a real minute of call audio — from the moment Salva picks up to the moment the call ends. That includes:

  • The greeting and conversation
  • Any time spent on a transfer attempt (including the 20-second ringing window)
  • Any time a human is on the line after a successful transfer

It does not include:

  • The carrier's ringing before Salva picks up
  • Time spent in your dashboard
  • Chat widget interactions (chat is on a separate quota)

Your current usage

Your dashboard shows live minute usage at the top of the page on Pro and Growth plans — total used, total included, and the date your cycle resets. It updates after each call ends.

What happens at the limit

There are no overage charges and no dropped calls. When you reach your monthly limit, the AI steps aside and Salva quietly forwards new incoming calls straight to your office line — so your front desk picks them up exactly as they did before Salva:

Every inbound call is answered by your AI. Your dashboard shows minutes used vs. included, with the reset date.

The cap is intentional. You'll never get a surprise bill for a busy month — and because calls fall back to your office instead of being turned away, no patient is ever left unanswered.

Trial accounts have a lower cap

During the 14-day free trial, voice minutes are capped lower to keep trials sustainable — 500 minutes on Pro and 1,000 on Growth. The over-limit behavior is identical: calls forward to your office line rather than being dropped. When you convert to a paid plan you get the full monthly allowance (1,000 on Pro, 2,000 on Growth), and any minutes you used during the trial carry into your first paid cycle rather than resetting.

Restoring service mid-cycle

If you hit the cap and need calls answered again before your reset date, upgrade to the next plan via Managing your subscription. The minute pool refreshes immediately on upgrade — and Stripe prorates the cost so you only pay the difference.

Downgrading later is also self-serve; it kicks in at your next billing date.

What about chat?

Chat interactions don't consume voice minutes — they run on a separate infrastructure. See Plans compared for the full feature breakdown across plans.
