Calling patients back from your inbox

Every call and chat with a phone number gets a one-click Call button. Salva rings you, then dials the patient — and they see your real office number as the caller ID.

What it does

When a patient leaves a message, asks for a callback, or hangs up before booking, you don't have to dig their number out of a transcript and dial it by hand. Open the conversation — or find it in your Inbox — and click Call. Salva connects you to the patient.

The patient sees your practice's own office number on their screen, not some unfamiliar number. That's the number they've saved, so they're far more likely to answer.

Two ways to talk to the patient

You choose how the call reaches you in Settings → Patient Callbacks.

Salva calls your desk phone first. You answer, and you're instantly connected to the patient. Best for a busy front desk — you use the handset you already know, no headset or microphone needed.

By default Salva rings your live transfer line. You can point it at a different desk line or a staff cell in the same settings panel.

The one-time number verification

To display your office number as the caller ID, the phone network requires a one-time confirmation that the number is really yours. Salva walks you through it during onboarding:

  1. Enter your main office number — the one patients already dial.
  2. Click Verify this number. Salva calls it within a few seconds.
  3. Answer the call and enter the 6-digit code shown on your screen, using your phone's keypad.
  4. Done — you'll see a green "verified" badge. You only do this once.

You can re-verify or change the number any time in Settings → Patient Callbacks.

Where the Call button appears

  • In your Inbox — a compact Call button on each conversation row, so you can call back without opening anything.
  • On the conversation page — a full Call button next to the patient's details.

If your office number isn't verified yet, the button is disabled and tells you to verify first. Callbacks are available on the Pro and Growth plans.
