Toggles most practices should turn on

Emergency detection, after-hours handling, and instant booking are the highest-value toggles for practices on voice. Turn them on during setup — they cover the core AI behaviors that deliver the most time savings.

The one exception for instant booking: if you want to audit bookings before they hit OpenDental, use pending review mode instead of leaving the toggle off entirely.

Toggles that are practice-specific

Pricing transparency and payment plans are off by default for a reason: many practices prefer to discuss money in person. Turn them on if your business model is up-front about pricing (e.g., DSO, membership-based, or dental-savings-plan offices).

Waitlist offers is a great fit for practices with high cancellation rates — Salva turns no-shows into filled slots automatically.

What disabling looks like

Every call is classified routine, urgent, or emergency. Emergency calls route to your emergency line and fire notifications.

We don't recommend disabling emergency detection unless you have a specific clinical reason.

Where to find them

Settings → Features. Changes apply on the next inbound call or chat. There's no draft state — toggles save immediately.

For behavior shaping that doesn't fit a toggle, you're looking at Do's and don'ts.
